"This painting should be quite collectable by now, as it is the first oil I painted in my series of Hawaiiana portraits, one year after moving to Maui. It is virtually a self portrait because I did not have a clear photo to work from, so I used a mirror and myself as a model. It was painted with a raw earthy delivery, filled with energy and excitement. The dancer has a sparkle in her eyes,
like a spirited young lady at the onset of her Hawaiian adventure!"
